Are You Looking For Canadian Fish and Fishing Tackle Info?
Welcome to the best thing to happen to fishing since the invention or the fishing rod. Canadian Fish and Fishing Tackle.com is a website dedicated to helping you become a better fisherman by providing you with the best information, articles and product sources available on the net.
Here we will share all of the things that we have learned about Canadian Freshwater Fish and Fishing Tackle for everyone to review, hopefully learn from and if all goes as planned, everyone will learn a few things.
Here at Canadian Fish and Fishing Tackle we always looking for the next great fishing breakthrough, you know, the one that will catch us that world record, put MY name in the record books. Of course there is alot more than just throwing a line into the water and hoping for the best.
I have been fishing for a long time now, and my record book fish has still not reared its ugly head. The more we know about fish and fishing tackle the bigger, better and more fish we catch every season.
I put alot of work into my favorite hobby, pastime and if it was up to me would also be my career, ANGLING. It is relaxing, exiting, peaceful and stressful all at the same time. And I love every minute of it. From Plus 30 Degrees to minus 30 degrees, open water or hard. It doesn't really matter to me.
Locally, on my home waters I am a fairly well known fisherperson, not necessarily by name. People often say that they have seen me around the lakes, or I recognized your truck from the derby last winter.

I enter all of the local fishing tournaments in the summer and ice fishing derby's in the winter, I have a really good success rate in competition fishing. I typically get a top spot in each of the ten to twelve competitions I fish each year. There is always a bad year here and there. I am after all only human.
The people that recognize me often say "Whats your secret" or "Any Pointers". All that I can really tell them is that when you hit the water one hundred plus times a year you just get a feel for whats going to be "IT" that day. I try and suggest some fishing tackle that may work better for them or take a look in there tackle box and show them what I would be using. If they are really nice, completley clueless, or kids I will usually give them a hook that I have been having luck with. Not only does it make people feel good, it makes people want to fish a little more, it keeps them interested. It also helps out local sporting goods stores because if those individuals end up having luck with the fishing tackle that I gave them, they will probably go out and purchase a few lures, maybe even some lures that they never would have considered before.
I believe that the best thing that I have done for my fishing success over the last ten years or so is that I now keep a
Fishing Journal
of every time that I fish. I simply buy a
Fishpond Southern Cross Fishing Journal
. When I go fishing I write in the date, time I arrived, weather conditions, name of the lake, water conditions, species of fish I am going after, what fishing tackle I brought, and what tackle worked. Every time I catch a fish, I record the species of fish, and the lure size, color and manufacturer.

I record this information in my own almost unreadable "shorthand". I don't want you to think of this as a chore, but as an encyclopedia of your fishing trips. You will be able to reference this journal forever and trust me you just might need to some days. My Journal has been me saving grace on some days. Whenever you are having an off day, just flip through your journal and find a similiar day and time of year and "boom" that just might be the key to your fishing success. It can be little, simple tips like this that have nothing directly in common with your tackle but can double your catch rates.
In the rest of this website I will discuss the various types of fresh water fish, tackle and other topics that I have some knowledge, advice or information on that someone out there may find usefull. I will direct you to some of my favorite fishing spots for various species of fish and where to buy some of my favorite fishing tackle and other sporting goods.
ENJOY!!!
