Ever Consider Making Fishing Tackle? Look No Further, I Have The Answers To Your Questions!
In 1999 I thought about making fishing tackle. I had no idea where to even start to figure out the basics. After alot of research and hundreds of dollars in books I have gotten the basics figured out.
I don't really have any other amature lure makers lures to compare mine to, but I think they are pretty darn fine if I do say so myself.
I tie flies for fly fishing, so do many others, there are countless websites, books and magazines on this subject. Thats not what I want to tell you about here. This page is about other baits mostly Jigs, Plugs, Spinnerbaits and Soft Plastic Baits.
The first type of lure I built was a common round head collarless jig. I found making these simple jigs very enjoyable and have continued to build (or try to) build many different types of lures since then. After your initial investments it can cost as little or as much as you want to spend depending on what types and styles of lures you want to build and the quality that you want from your work. I build some extremely crude looking lures that work great, often better than whats available in the bait shops.
