Red Deer River

The Red Deer River I am mentioning here is the lower section, from Drumheller to the Alberta/Saskatchewan border.

This river contains northern pike to 15 lbs and walleye to about 10 lbs. Many Sauger and Goldeye inhabit this portion of the river and trout species are scattered throughout the whole lower river section.

The river is pretty muddy and murky throughout much of the lower sections, Perfect walleye habbitat.

Sturgeon can be found in this river near the Alberta/Saskatchewan border.

Accesses to the river can be found by contacting private landowners or at many of the bridges that cross it.

Emerson Bridge, Steville and Dinosaur Park also have great river access.

Many of the farmers in the area have locked gates and taken down signs saying anglers had full access to there trails. This is due to many irrisponsable people that cannot respec other peoples private property.
