ROCK LAKE

Rock Lake is 3.5 kilometers north of the highways #1 and 36 junction just west of Brooks. This reservoir is a great lake to catch pike consistently. There are damns at either end, the west end of the lake has an inlet canal flowing in that holds many eating size pike for most of the year.

In the mid summer fishing off the damns is typically good, also out of a boat. If you wish to fish other parts of the shore it can be difficult due to large amounts of weeds that take over the lake near shore all the way around.

This reservoir holds pike up to 15 pounds as well as numerous perch and whitefish.

Due to the overall depth of the lake winter kill can be a problem.

The boat launch is located at the north east corner of Rock Lake.

Ice fishing is very popular on this lake, Near the east damn I where most people ice fish, water depth depending on water level can be in excess of 25 feet.

Recently the perch population seems to have been declining or they are just getting a lot smarter. I have a harder time getting onto them and when I do they are in smaller schools.
